About Patrick Brink
Patrick Brink is a professional composer, trumpet player, and sometimes jazz pianist. As a recording artist, he is heard within an array of different styles, appearing on albums with various groups including the Old 97’s, Nick Durham, the Boston Latin Band, Guy Schwartz, and the late tenor saxophone legend Jerald Gray.
Patrick has appeared as a performing artist with Otis Day, the Hollywood Jazz Orchestra, the Las Vegas Big Band, the Houston Symphony Orchestra, and the late Joe Sample (Crusaders), among others. He composes music for independent film and television, and his work has premiered on local access stations in Los Angeles and Amsterdam, WFMT – Chicago, WGBH (PBS) in Boston, and the Food Network.
In addition to writing and performing, he teaches trumpet, jazz improvisation, and electronic music at Lone Star College in Kingwood, Texas. Patrick holds the Master of Music degree in jazz studies from the University of North Texas. He also earned the Bachelor of Music in film scoring from Berklee College of Music in Boston, as well as baccalaureate degrees in music performance and music education from Texas Tech University.
He holds recognition from Pi Kappa Lambda national music honor society, the Fender-Rhodes Educational Foundation, and the Boston Conservatory. Patrick is a member of the International Trumpet Guild, the Texas Bandmasters Association, the Independent Film Composers Guild, and the Texas Jazz Educators Association.
